A Helpful Platform for Teachers Wanting to Start Teaching Online

A while ago, I joined the Online Teachers Club, and since then I’ve often shared it with teachers who are interested in starting their online teaching journey.

There are so many people wanting to teach online these days, but it can feel overwhelming when you first start. It’s often difficult to know where to begin, which companies are legitimate, what the pay is like, and what qualifications are needed. That’s one of the reasons I found this platform so useful.

One of my favourite features is the community aspect. Teachers can ask questions, share advice, and learn from people who are already working in the online teaching industry. Whether you’re struggling with applications, lesson preparation, equipment, or simply deciding which platform to apply to, there are always teachers willing to help.

The Online Teachers Club also shares online teaching job opportunities and useful information about different companies. This includes details such as:

  • How much companies pay
  • Who they hire
  • Whether a degree is required
  • Student age groups
  • Teacher feedback and reviews

As a South African teacher, I personally found this especially helpful because many of the listed platforms are open to hiring South Africans.

Another thing I really like is that the platform is not only for teachers looking for companies to work for. They have also started adding tools for teachers who want to go the independent route.

If you eventually want to build your own teaching business, the platform offers tools to help you:

  • Build your own landing page
  • Create your personal teaching brand
  • Set up a digital classroom
  • Access teaching resources and materials

For classroom teachers, there is also a large educational resource library with ready-made EDBs (for Classin), games, reward charts, and other classroom materials that can save a lot of preparation time.

They also offer courses for newer online teachers who may still be learning the basics or looking for guidance on where to start.

Overall, I think it’s a really useful platform whether you:

  • Want extra income
  • Want to teach online full-time
  • Want to work independently
  • Or simply want support from other teachers

I actually shared this platform with other teachers long before becoming an affiliate because I genuinely found it useful myself. I am now part of their affiliate partnership, which means I may earn something if people join through my link, but I still wanted to share it because it’s something I personally use and recommend.
